We had our tournament the first weekend in February. Again we were delighted to have many out of town and in town guests (Rob and Alice from California, Rufus from North Carolina and his friend Tanya, George from Kansas City, JT from North Carolina, Bob and Sue from Pittsburgh with their new baby Mia (My-Uh), Shaun J's family, Chris and Julie from around town). Hope you all can come again and bring others too. We had lots of fun. Here are the notes from my Facebook wall (which is why I could not find the information after I unpacked my boxes after I got new carpeting after the tournament): Friday night we played 301 singles. Bob from Pittsburgh 4th place, Joe C 3rd, Rufus second, George undefeated winner in 301 singles. Shawn B winner of the high ton of 147. Saturday morning, we played Round Robin. In this game we each play a total of six games against three other randomly drawn players. You get 4 points for first, 3 points for second, 2 points for third, and 1 point for fourth. Then there's a point each for tons and zero outs (2 points for super tons--over 130). The most anyone could get is 54 points if the person zeroed out every game with two super tons. But usually the most anyone gets is around 25 points. The least anyone can get is 6 points if they get all fourth places with no tons or zero outs. The only bad thing is it can get exhausting. Winners: Fourth Joe C, Third Sam, second George, first Rufus. High ton 127 by Joe R. After we finished Round Robin, we played Gotcha, a new game we started last year. In this game, you start at 0 and try to be the first to get to exactly 301. If another player's score after throwing a dart matches your score, your score then goes back down to zero and you have to start over. I knocked someone out who had 217 points then I got knocked down to 0 when I had 255 points. Joe R in fourth. Mike B third. Chris second. Rufus undefeated winner. Rob high ton 127. Ten guide dogs were in the dart tournament room. Saturday night after dinner, we played 301 Luck of the Draw, where your partner gets chosen for you by drawing matching numbers. Shawn B and Barb B in 5th. Rufus and Catalina in 4th. Sam and Charlene 3rd, Gar and George 2nd, and Shaun J and Bob 1st. Shawn B high ton 133. Sunday morning, we played 501 Pick Your Partner where chosen partners take turns shooting at one score. Michelle and Dan in 4th. Kari and Nancy in third. Gary and JT second. Rufus and George undefeated first. JT high ton 145. There were also door prizes and ticket drawings. It was a lot of fun.
