He welcomed everyone. The secretary was out sick so she couldn't read the notes so Phil skim read the August 22, 2023, board meeting minutes. Shawn made the motion to approve the Secretary notes as read and Kellie B seconded it and it was approved. Kellie B gave the treasurer's report: there's $3,849.61 in the checking account right now. Expenses: bluehost web page for $34.99, PO Box $194, the board purchase was $1800, for the day tournament was $192.60 and for replacing tape $19.67. Total expenses $2241.26 We have $2317 in the Venmo account and there is $746 in cash to be deposited so the total with the checking is $6912.61. Kellie discussed issues with a Venmo account doing transfers and how to remedy that. She will send out the final treasurer's report once we determine prize money after getting the report from Jordan. Colleen made a motion to approve the treasurer's report and Shawn seconded and it carried. Vice presidents report by Ellen: nothing, it has been all quiet. Captain's rep report: Catalina is out of town so Phil reported: We had six teams and 25 weeks. New players were added midseason and some left midseason. We hope to expand. It's hard to get younger people interested. Brian asked if there is a budget for outreach and Phil said there's nothing and that a lot of times we get sponsored by demonstrations or events. He talked about NFB in April being local this year and they're looking for presentations and April will talk to the president of NFB about us doing a presentation. Phil started talking about the dart tournament but we went back to discussing outreach. Colleen reported that the ACB state convention is near the end of January: the 25th and the 26th and we discussed the possibility of being an exhibitor. We talked about how it is good to get exposure at ACB and NFB conventions and increase people's awareness of us and it was suggested to talk to people at bowling too. Phil reported: We did the day tournament on March 10, 2024. There were 15 participants in the round Robin 301 and there were eight participants in the 501 luck of the draw. Phil continued to tell us that there's a tournament fund and we can host and pay for food to encourage people Old business: boards and cabinets are all replaced with new ones from Sam. They have new features that are great. The VFW cabinet fell apart and it was held together by wood glue and screws. Will get a new cabinet for the VFW from Kellie's basement. It was the one that was at Memory Lanes. Antonio took the old cabinet off our hands. Shawn asked a question about whether we can use the dart stands just in case and Phil reported that we have several dart stands if needed, but they don't hold the speakers and then Colleen made a motion that Gary seconded to close the business meeting. The meeting ended at 6:53 PM.to show up and all they have to contribute is to the prize money. Phil wants to host a tournament over the summer and will have the info hopefully by the end of May.
